Angus Morton is an icon in the cycling, content creation world. He’s back at it with another amazing documentary!

This one’s a weirdly controversial topic in the cycling World—bicycle brands making shoes… I don’t know if they should or shouldn’t but having the financial and technological means to do so, why not? I personally am a fan of the new Canyon shoes, having worn them for about a week, I’ll definitely keep rocking them.

Bike skills taken to another level.

Oak Twilight at Salt Lake City Crit

Another week, another Crit. Before a bit of a break, I was able to take my Twilight down to one of my favorite crits of the year, where I finished my first national-level professional criterium! That was made even better by doing so on my beautiful Twilight.

There weren’t many pictures of me racing due to the huge field but the ones that I got were quite epic.

This is one of my favorite cycling-related brands, because of their impeccable design. They seem to be introducing a layer of streetwear to their line of products and I’m a big fan.

Why it’s relevant to me. Brands in the industry that disrupt are a huge inspiration for me to want to do the same. Expect more “out there” things from Oak soon too…

Why it’s relevant to you. It doesn’t get much better than this as an introduction to the cycling world… of products! You can wear functional cycling products on AND off the bike that look cool in both situations.

A teammate shared this product and I’m very curious… if it works. It’s hot around here, and in most of the northern hemisphere… Things like this can really make a change in the sport, if they work…

Why it’s relevant to me. I will 100% be testing this. This is the kind of disruption I like to be an apologetic for. I won’t endorse something I don’t believe in and haven’t tested yet, so that’s the next step.

Why it’s relevant to you. It’s pretty self-explanatory—you live in a hot place and would like to feel a little cooler? Cooling bar tape might be the move.

Oak Twilight at Boise Twilight

The Twilight raced at Twilight! This race (and all the others that happen at twilight), is the reason for the name of the bike so I was very excited to have the bike ready to rock at its first Twilight race.

It was also my first time racing it in the Pro field. I went a little aggressive at the start, breaking away from the field to try to snag a cash prime. Unfortunately I lost it and couldn’t slot back in the group so my race was over… I still had a blast and my teammates (who will soon be on Twilights) did amazing.

And of course, I got some awesome shots from it, thanks to Brian Kohagen and Sawyer Pangborn.

Cool content

Ok so cyclists, and cycling in general is weird. Companies and riders are coming up with the weirdest things to become faster. Makes sense as bikes can’t get much better but, when it comes to “aerodynamic bras”, I struggle a little bit…

Why it’s relevant to me. As we look to start exploring Time Trial bikes and being aerodynamically efficient, I need to consider all of these things and make sure we’re on top of it.

Why it’s relevant to you. Getting an “aero bra” can actually make you, apparently, 10+ seconds faster… Might be worth looking into it guys!

Cool products

I first heard of this brand when Pogacar won the Tour in 2020. Since then it’s blown up and kind of risen to the top of cycling shoes. These are my new favorites.

Why it’s relevant to me. No way I’m spending $500 on cycling shoes that I could crash or get too dirty too soon but a guy can dream, right?

Why it’s relevant to you. I think it’s interesting to compare cycling to the world of luxury clothing. $500 isn’t super surprising to cyclists for shoes but in the “normal” shoe world, that’s considered extreme luxury. Interesting, I think, to me anyway…
